My Andalou Naturals Anti-Aging Clean Beauty Skincare Routine

My Andalou Naturals Anti-Aging Clean Beauty Skincare Routine Pin It

Skincare is something I’ve been passionate for a while. I love putting things on my face especially, and I find the act of skincare to be relaxing and a very soothing sensory experience. However, as somebody who is very sensitive, I need there to be non-harsh fragrance (I love scent in my skincare for the sensorial experience). Before switching to Andalou for most of my skincare, I was using Glow Recipe. I actually looooove Glow Recipe but I decided to let it go because of the synthetic fragrance. I wasn’t sensitive to it, but I’ve been trying to remove as much synthetics from my life as possible. To keep this as useful as possible, I’ll be putting the list of ingredients for every product that I’m currently using. I will admit that there may be some ingredients that I am less fond of than others, but I weighted this with scent/feel/effectiveness. At 31, my main concerns are hydration and prevention of fine lines and aging.

Below is an image of my skincare.

Andalou Naturals makes the following claims about their products. I will say that the was a period where Andalou changed owners and had sub-par ingredients, this seems to have changed as they sold again, this time to a company that seems more in line with clean beauty standards. I will caution that some Andalou products have synthetic fragrance, namely the body lotions. Be sure to check ingredients on a per product basis no matter what the brand is. I have no loyalty to any brand, and these products are just the ones that I am currently using. I may switch in the future especially if ingredients change! For the most part I’m using Andalou because they just offered products that I liked the ingredients of, not for any devotion to the brand.

Age Defying Goji Perfecting Cream

This is actually one of my favourite moisturizers. It’s light and airy, while also providing enough moisture for dry winter days in Canada. Previously I used The Inkey List moisturizer and before that Glow recipe’s plum plump. I love this moisturizer the most out of all of them.

Aqua/Water/Eau, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate, Isopropyl Palmitate, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter*, Malus Domestica (Apple) Fruit Cell Culture Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Cell Extract, Lycium Barbarum (Goji) Fruit Extract, Aronia Melanocarpa (Black Chokeberry) Fruit Extract*, Camellia Sinensis (Tea) Leaf Extract*, Euterpe Oleracea (Açai) Fruit Extract*, Pichia/Resveratrol Ferment Extract, Sodium Riboflavin Phosphate, Ubiquinone (Co-Enzyme Q10), Borago Officinalis (Borage) Seed Oil*, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Allantoin, Bisabolol, Soy Lecithin, Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5), Glyceryl Laurate, Isomalt, Xanthan Gum, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Carbomer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Natural Fragrance *Certified Organic Ingredient

Age Defying Avo Cocoa Skin Food Mask

This avo-cocoa skin mask is basically chocolate icing in a jar. It smells delicious. I honestly use this more for sensory reasons than skincare, but it leaves the skin moisturized as it’s thick. This is an awesome winter mask, especially paired with a hot chocolate for a full experience.

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice*, Purified Water (Aqua), Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Powder*†, Vegetable Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides, Cetyl Alcohol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter*†, Cetearyl Glucoside, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter*, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Fruit Oil*, Tocopherol, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract*, Fruit Stem Cells (Malus Domestica, Solar Vitis) and BioActive Berry Complex*, Coffea Arabica (Coffee) Extract*, Resveratrol, Ubiquinone (CoQ10), Xanthan Gum, Potassium Carbonate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Lecithin, Phenethyl Alcohol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Leaf Extract*† *Certified Organic Ingredients †Fair Trade Ingredients

Age Defying Apricot Probiotic Cleansing Milk

I’ve bounced around from cleanser to cleanser and never really found one that I completely loved. I only use my cleanser in the bath because I have sensory issues with getting only my hands/face wet. Previously I had tried the Glow recipe avocoado cleanser and the aveeno oatmeal one. These were fine, but I wanted to get a product that was a bit more natural. I noticed that I love a cleanser that is more on the fatty side; and feel like foam cleansers or gels are too drying. I have no complaints about the apricot probiotic cleansing mask.

Aqua/Water/Eau, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Glycerin, Octyl Palmitate, Glyceryl Stearate, Stearic Acid, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice*, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Borago Officinalis (Borage) Seed Oil*, Bacillus Coagulans, Malus Domestica (Apple) Fruit Cell Culture Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Cell Extract, Aronia Melanocarpa (Black Chokeberry) Fruit Extract*, Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Leaf Extract*, Euterpe Oleracea (Açaí) Fruit Extract*, Lycium Barbarum (Goji) Fruit Extract*, Pichia/Resveratrol Ferment Extract, Ubiquinone (Co-Enzyme Q10), Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5), Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), Allantoin, Cetyl Alcohol, Lecithin, Sucrose Cocoate, Isomalt, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Xanthan Gum, Maltodextrin, Ethylhexylglycerin, Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Natural Fragrance *Certified Organic Ingredient

Clear Skin Willow Bark Pure Pore Toner

This is probably my least favourite product that I’m using. The peppermint is a bit strong and I find it aggressive with the other skincare scents (like the 1000 roses squalane). I still find myself reaching for my Glow recipe aha/bha toner, even though it’s less clean it’s my favourite product of all time. I’ll likely still be finding a replacement for it. However, I don’t hate this willow bark toner, I just think it’s too watery for me and I’ve gotten so used to the glow recipe. I tend to use toner for relaxing and exfoliation, so the peppermint does feel nice, I just don’t like applying it with any other scents at the same time. About a decade ago I got the 1000 roses andalou toner and I really didn’t like how aggressive the scent was. I may search for other brands in the future to fill this gap.
Aqua/Water/Eau, Polysorbate 20, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice*, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Leaf Extract*, Glycerin, Panthenol, Sodium PCA, Argania Spinosa Sprout Cell Extract, Malus Domestica Fruit Cell Culture Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Cell Extract, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Aronia Melanocarpa Fruit Extract*, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract*, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract*, Lycium Barbarum Fruit Extract*, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Saccharomyces/Xylinum/Black Tea Ferment, Echinacea Purpurea Extract*, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Allantoin, Camphor, Isomalt, Lecithin, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Parfum (Fragrance)** *Certified Organic Ingredient, **Natural Fragrance

1000 Roses Overnight Lip Sleeping Mask

I am incredibly picky when it comes to the fragrance, feel, and texture of lip masks. I’m almost always putting something on my lips, but I also hate the feel of a lot of products sensory wise. I tried Laneige in the past (which has terrible ingredients) and hated every second of it. I then had masque bar which I didn’t hate but wasn’t a fan of the ingredients. The Glow Recipe plum pump was sticky and gross. This andalou one is AMAZING. It kind of reminds me of the smell of gummy bears and it feels so soft and supple on my lips. I keep it at my bedside and immediately apply it before sleeping.
Dimer Dilinoleyl Dimer Dilinoleate, Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides, Glyceride Esters (Myristate/Palmitate/Stearate Ricinoleate/Eicosanedioate), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Seed Oil*, Flavor, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Cymbopogon Martini Oil, Sambucus Nigra (Elderberry) Fruit Extract, Aqua/Water/Eau, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract*, Ipomoea Batatas (Sweet Potato) Root Extract, Isomalt, Aronia Arbutifolia (Aronia) Fruit Extract, Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Leaf Extract, Euterpe Oleracea (Acai) Fruit Extract, Lycium Barbarum (Goji) Fruit Extract, Malus Domestica (Apple) Fruit Cell Culture Extract, Acacia Senegal Gum, Citric Acid, Maltodextrin, Beta Glucan/Beta Glucan (Oat)/Aqua, Rhododendron Ferrugineum Leaf Cell Culture Extract, Xanthan Gum, Lecithin, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Cell Extract, Sodium Benzoate, Dextrin Palmitate. *Certified Organic Ingredient

1000 Roses CC Color + Correct with SPF 30

For sunscreen, I often go without since I live in Canada and live inside with light blocking curtains 99% of the time. However, I did purchase an SPF CC cream for light-weight coverage. I cannot use titanium dioxide, so this product not having it was why I bought it. The scent is a bit strong, but I do over-all think the feel is okay. I’m not in love with any BB/CC cream or sunscreen, never have been, and likely never will be. So take that for what you will. It’s fine.
Zinc Oxide 20.0% Water/Aqua/Eau, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Polyglyceryl-3 Polyricinoleate, Magnesium Sulfate, Glycerin, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Hydrogenated Methyl Abietate, Stearyl/Octyldodecyl Citrate Crosspolymer, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Glyceryl Caprylate, Rhododendron Ferrugineum (Alpine Rose) Leaf Cell Culture Extract, Malus Domestica (Apple) Fruit Cell Culture Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Cell Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Aronia Melanocarpa (Black Chokeberry) Fruit Extract*, Lycium Barbarum (Goji) Fruit Extract*, Euterpe Oleracea (Açai) Fruit Extract*, Camellia Sinensis (Tea) Leaf Extract*, Isomalt, Soy Lecithin, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Galactoarabinan, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Benzoate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Natural Fragrance, Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499) *Certified Organic

1000 Roses Soothing Squalane Oil

I mostly use this product because I love the sensory feel of oil/scent on my face. This is the last thing I put on to lock in the moisture of the other products. While I am not 100% married to this product, I do like it and will likely repurchase. As for actual skincare, I have my doubts it does much other than help keep moisture in, so honestly I think any skin oil could take its place. With that said, I do still like it and have no specific complaints.

Squalane, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Ethyl Oleate, Isoamyl Laurate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, 1,2-Hexanediol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice*, Aronia Arbutifolia Fruit Extract, Butylene Glycol, Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Leaf Extract+, Citric Acid, Euterpe Oleracea (Acai) Fruit Extract, Glycerin, Isomalt, Lycium Barbarum (Goji) Fruit Extract, Malus Domestica Fruit Cell Culture Extract, Phospholipids, Potassium Sorbate, Rhododendron Ferrugineum Leaf Cell Culture Extract, Rosa Centifolia Flower Extract, Sodium Benzoate, Terminalia Ferdinandiana (Kakadu Plum) Fruit Extract, Water/Aqua/Eau, Xanthan Gum, Parfum (Fragrance)**, Citronellol***, Eugenol***, Geraniol***, Limonene***, Linalool*** *Certified Organic, +Fair Trade Ingredient, Natural Fragrance, **Component of Natural Fragrance.

Age Defying Deep Wrinkle Dermal Filler

I have absolutely no idea if this does anything. It makes me feel better to put it on my forehead, around my lips, and the corner of my eyes. But, again, I have absolutely no idea if this is doing anything. I have a few fine lines on my forehead from expression lines, and I do think it makes my skin more hydrated and them less visible (but they’re not crazy big either way). I use this mostly for peace of mind to feel like I’m doing something as we hurl toward the endless abyss that is our inevitable demise. Do I recommend it? Not sure. It feels okay, it smells fine, and it doesn’t seem to make things worse… so I think it’s fine to add but I’m not going to bad for it and say it’s the most necessary product in my routine.

Aqua/Water/Eau, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice*, Propanediol, Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate, Hydrogenated Ethylhexyl Olivate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Tapioca Starch, Capryloyl Glycerin/Sebacic Acid Copolymer, Cetyl Alcohol, Diheptyl Succinate, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Stearic Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Levulinate, Citric Acid, Xanthan Gum, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter*, Hydrogenated Olive Oil Unsaponifiables, Sodium Phytate, Fragrance (Parfum)**, Potassium Hydroxide, Allantoin, Bakuchiol, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Resveratrol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ubiquinone, Theobroma Grandiflorum Seed Butter, Isomalt, Glycerin*, Malus Domestica Fruit Cell Culture Extract, Aronia Melanocarpa Fruit Extract*, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract*, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract, Lycium Barbarum Fruit Extract*, Lecithin, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Cell Extract, Sodium Benzoate, Tocopherol. Brightening Luminous Eye Serum

I have hooded eyes with incredibly dark under eye circles. I always have. Trying to make this go away is absolutely pointless. However, I use eye cream because it feels like something I should do. I think it absolutely marginally makes a tiny difference if anything by keeping my under eyes moisturized. This eye cream did not change my life. I am actually not even convinced that eye cream separate from a moisturizer is necessary at all. The product feels fine though. I like the idea that it might brighten my under eyes but I don’t actually think it does much other than add more moisture, which is still a good thing I guess. I wouldn’t panic if I ran out though.
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice*, Purified Water (Aqua), Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Vegetable Glycerin, Fruit Stem Cells (Malus Domestica, Solar Vitis) and BioActive Berry Complex*, Lycium Barbarum (Goji) Fruit Extract, Sodium PCA, Sodium Hyaluronate, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract*, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract*, Caffeine (Green Coffee), Tocopherol, Hydrolyzed Rice Protein, Aspalathus Linearis (Rooibos) Extract*, Hibiscus Rosa-Sinensis Flower Extract*, Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Leaf Extract*, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract*, Chamomilla Recutita (Chamomile) Flower Extract*, Laminaria Digitata (Kelp) Extract, Allantoin, Phenethyl Alcohol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) Oil* *Certified Organic Ingredients Fair Trade Ingredients

A note about serums: I am currently on the look out for a vitamin C serum. I’m using up my inkey list one and debating whether I will go with Pacifica, Andalou, or find something else.
